Hi, I'm Ema.

I am originally from the beautiful city of Edinburgh but decided to swap the city for country life around four years ago. Myself & my partner packed up everything we owned and bought our first home together on The Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands. We live a quiet life in a small village next to the sea and mountains with our two dogs and many chickens.

I have always been somewhat of an introverted person & I have been quietly documenting my life and others around me through photography for as long as I can remember.

I have nurtured a love of all things creative since I was a little girl. Art, poetry and film have been huge parts of my life growing up and has definitely influenced my style of documentary storytelling when it comes to my work.

I like to take joy in the simple things. Morning coffee with my partner before the day begins. Quiet moments in nature. Long walks with my dogs & pottering around in the garden with my chickens.

Some little facts about me:

• I am forever that friend who will be messaging you to tell you to look at the moon when she's looking pretty.
• I have 7 pet hens and a rooster named Rick. He is as ferocious as he is sweet.
• I am a huge movie geek and could talk endlessly about my favourite films.
• I always have a cup of coffee on the go but can never seem to finish one without forgetting it's there. Shout out to all my lukewarm tea or coffee drinkers out there.
• My business name "Earth to Ema" was inspired by the fact I have always been a daydreamer and adults around me often said this phrase to me. Realising as I grew older that being a "dreamer" was a positive thing rather than a negative has turned this side of my personality into a strength.
